I want to address the reason for my ban. I understand that racial language is taken very seriously, and I respect that completely. What happened was a misunderstanding due to my accent. I said nigga in a casual, non-hateful way, but because of my Haitian accent, it was unfortunately misheard as the word nig***r.
I want to be clear that I did not say that word, nor would I ever use it in a hateful or derogatory way. I understand why it may have caused concern, and I apologize for the situation and any discomfort it created.
I value this community and want to continue being a positive part of it. I’ll be extra careful with how I speak moving forward to avoid any similar misunderstandings.
